Vision problems

Hello all,
I feel like this been asked multiple times, but felt like asking again to have a new set of answers.

Do any of you have vision problems that you think might be caused by fibromyalgia?

I have visual snow, optical migraines, small flashes of light appearing randomly, a feeling that I have hair or something in my vision.

I had a lot of tests done, multiple times and they found nothing wrong with my eyes. I was tested for retinal detachment, eye pressure, and other things with scientific names I don't remember. Nothing was wrong with my eyes.

I'm trying to gather information to talk to my rheumatologist next time I see her in about two weeks.

(Also, I'm flaring right now. I don't know what it's called, but I have this thing where my skin is crazy sensitive to the touch. It's awful!)

Yes... I have all of those things... the snow... I get auras with migraines.. not sure how that's different than optical migraine... I also get flashes of light... in addition I also have after images and slight double vision in my peripheral vision or when looking at something really bright. I have worsened night vision. I have pressure around my eyes sometimes.. or, I feel pressure at least.

I haven't had my eyes checked recently but when I started having blurred vision 5 years ago I did and things came out pretty much normal.

Its weird. Ah.. FM...

I used to stress out really bad about it, but these days I'm just grateful I can see... and I don't need glasses..

The "snow" and "hair" are trash from dead cells floating around in the vitrious fluid in your eyes. You'll develop more as you age but if it gets too bad there is a procedure where they burn them with laser.

The slight double vision is from mild astigmatism.

My night vision has gotten worse as I've gotten older. I can't read the road signs. So I just wear night driving glasses.

The optical migraines could be fibro related. My mother suffers from optical migraines. She sees zig-zag light lines and half of her vision field is blacked out for 20 minutes.

I do get nasty little headaches that feel like a hot poker is being drove into my eyes and forehead. Thank goodness they are few and far between.

I have had the optical migraines and I have many floaters.  This will cause the spots you might be seeing.  I'm not sure about the thread thing.  I'm assuming you saw an opthalmologist.  They are the specialists in this area.  If you did and they said your eyes are healthy, then try not to worry about it so much.

Yup; optical migraines, crazy fuzzy "stuff", floaters...sometimes it feels like my eyes won't focus together, and I have to shut one to be able to fully focus on something. Or when I try to focus on something, they'll wiggle a bit before they'll settle and focus. It's just weird and crazy. The gabapentin I take makes all of this about twenty times worse; it takes me a good 15 minutes in the morning for my eyes to wake up & work together!
