Hi everyone,
When I first got sick, I was treated by a lovely understanding doctor who was very helpful. Then she had a baby and stopped work for 2 years to care for the child full-time. During that time I struggled to find any understanding doctors, let alone helpful ones. That doctor has just started practising again (part-time). I went to see her today and she is just as wonderful as I'd remembered her being. As soon as I get her the notes from the doctor who was treating me when I lived at uni, she is happy to resume diagnosing and treating me. My doctor at uni (the first somewhat understanding doctor that I'd found in the past 2 years) hadn't been too sure about
the ideas of leaky gut and neurology. But my new-old doctor is happy to thoroughly investigate whether or not I have leaky gut and to refer me to a neurologist (and rheumatologist, if need be). I'm so happy to have my good doctor again! She is the one who guided me through the first 6 months so that I went from being bedridden and very dependent to a relatively active person who is very independent. Thing is, I haven't improved much past that point in the last 2 years since she's been out of practice. Maybe I'll start improving again now that she's back! Me so happy!
Anyway, I just had to tell you guys the great news.
Jasmine
