Hunter S. Thompson, our kitty not the author, has been acting oddly for a few days. Very lethargic, she hid from us, and she quit grooming herself. She also lost some weight and she's never been very big. I think she weighed 4 pounds last time. Today she had lost over a pound
She's running a fever of 105. The vet said she doesn't have any of the signs for an obstruction. He thinks she may have leukemia. My heart is just broken for our poor little kitty.
I know a lot of you have fur babies, too. That's why I decided to post about
it. You will all understand. If you can keep hunter in your thoughts I would really appreciate.

Sorry she's feeling poorly. Its not good for a cat to lose so much weight. She' ll get fatty liver. I hate seeing a fur baby feeling so bad.

ahhh my thoughts are with you...My cats are like my extra babies...they just seem to totally understand and I especially love our ginger Tabbie - he is like a dopey bear, I could cuddle him all day long and he just looks at me and almost nods in understanding ..

Oh I'm sorry, that's so stressful. Their suffering hits us almost worse than ourown. Did they do tests?

They are doing tests now. He asked us to leave her there overnight but I hate to leave her in strange place overnight.

The vet just called. The test for leukemia was negative!! He's still going to keep her overnight. He wants to find the source of her symptoms. I still hate to leave her, she's a shy kitty.

You are in my thoughts and prayers. Our pets are members of our family and it's so stressful when they get sick since they can't tell how they feel. I hope your vet gets the answer, soon. She is so small and really can't afford to keep losing weight. Let us know what you find out.

Sorry to hear of your dear kitty's sickness. We have a kitty and two dogs so I understand pets are definitely family. Good news it's not leukemia. Will keep this in my prayers.

Oh Angelic, my dogs mean the world to me and I would be so worried about
them if they were sick. Hope it works out well.

The vet called this afternoon. Hunter is doing much better. She started eating this morning and her fever is gone. She has to complete a round of antibiotics but that's all. My best friend is coming over soon to take me to pick her up. Thank you all for praying and keeping my itty bitty kitty in your thoughts.

She's home now. She tried to nurse my ears, was very vocal, and tried to hide in my elbow all in the car. As soon as I got the door
open she jumped right into the house. She's gobbling up food right now. I'm going to feel better when she puts some weight back on but she's acting much more like herself.

She's hiding now. :(. I gave her medicine and our cat Bernie, who is fixed, tried to mate with her. I think the hiding is telling is that she doesn't like taking medicine or being molested. Lol

My cat hated medication time. She'd seem to know when it was time for it. She'd get in places she knew nobody could reach her. I'd have to sneak up on her to catch her before she could get in her hiding places. Lol!

So glad she's feeling better. Almost the exact same symptoms happened to my cat, Molly, a couple of weeks ago. She is very big, not fat like her sister, she weighs 13 pounds, but had lost a pound by the time we got her to the vet. We even used a syringe to squirt water into her mouth because she wouldn't drink. She was just starting to get better when we had to go on vacation, but we had a good caretaker. She is still thin, but much better now. BTW, there is a vaccination for feline leukemia, our first cat died from that, now we get vaccinations.

Hoping she's fully recovered very soon! Our kitty is a member of our family, too; it would devastate us if something happened to her. I feel for you!
