Hello, First of all I so sick and tired of living with pain... I feel so bad because my daughter always makes comments about how boring I am now, or She says I am use to you saying sorry because You don't feel good.
I just can't win if I decide to take pain pills sometimes they make me lazy, so I don't want to do anything, or I decide not to take anything then I am am in so much pain I don't want to do anything. So this a no win situation.. cry

You definitely have my sympathy! It's hard always being in pain. That said, is there a way for you to find a different pain med? There are a lot of options out there. You might like a transdermal patch so the med is in your system 24/7. I find that as long as you're at the right dose there isn't fatigue but it takes the edge off enough so you can get a 'decent' nights sleep. What are your currently taking when it gets to be too much?

Those kind of comments hurt. My dd has said the same to me on occasion. I just remind myself that she is speaking from her own pain and not to hurt me. It is hard for our loved ones to deal with the changes we have had to make. They grieve too for what used to be.

On the flip side, though, maybe you and she can develop some new interests that you do feel up to doing. Maybe you aren't up for marathon mall trips, but you are up for a small boutique and lunch. My dd and I watch movies and play hidden object games on the computer a lot. We sit outside on the patio and talk. I'm not as active as I used to be (some due to fibro, some to other health issues), but we still find things to do together we enjoy. It took a lot of patience, perseverance, understanding, and sometimes forgiveness.

I don't take medication for pain, but there may be something else you can try to help. I know some of our fibro friends here do get some relief from OTC pain meds. Maybe you doc can help (?). I know it is so frustrating.

Or what about taking a weekly class together where you can sit? Like pottery/painting/crochet, etc? That way you can see each other and have fun but not at the expense of your pain? Although now that I think about it, painting might not work because you have I lift your arms a lot. My arms don't do that these days! lol

Kimmer 66 I am sorry you are having one of those rough fibro days. I went throgh that last month. It really got me upset too. I finally got fairly good control of my pain again. I use subutex for pain control. I have had good results, especially in the morning. I started back to the gym and I figured it caused my flare.

I would try something to get some good pain control. I know for me chronic pain can cause me to go into depression. I hope you feel better soon.

Hi, Kimmers!  I use over the counter pain meds and some supplements to help me control the pain.  This way, it takes the edge off the pain so I can do things but they don't make me groggy, sleepy, etc.  This has worked great for me.

 

I'm sorry your daughter said those hurtful things to you.  I have had health problems most of my life so my children have never seen me totally healthy.  Because of this they really do understand.  If anything, I have to argue with them to let me do things.  They want to do everything for me and that's not healthy either.
