Iodine and Vit D ????

  Accupuncturist wants me to take Iodine and high doses of Vit D to get my level of Vit D closer to the 100 mark mine is 33 right now

anyone else take Iodine?  and how about VitD? how much?

I never heard of taking the iodine. I take 5,000 iu a day. I don't know what my level is. It was low and I was taking 2,000 a day. I will have to look this up.

I hope you get some answers...

The Iodine may be for metal toxicity and not fibro. But the vit. D is definitely for the fibro.

so I am to take 4,000iu a day and then she is going to increase it once winter comes to call

also my husband had me start taking mega amino acids today...must have read something about that too

I take 100,000 a week of vit D. My levels are just barely normal even on that. My lupus prevents me from having any sun exposure.

Information about vitamin D3 is in Fibro 101.  I take 5,500 IU a day.

 

You should be getting plenty of iodine if you use iodized salt.

Lainey- If you do take vitamin D in large doses make sure you check your levels in a few months. I was taking high doses of vitamin D and I didn't get mine checked. It caused me a kidney stone and surgery. Mine was 4 times the level.

justdale, I saw a RA...and had blood taken last week. don't know if they checked Vit D. last labs drawn May 2013 I was 33.

I am hoping against hope that this will bring me back to life. My acupuncturist was the one who said that ppl with multiple conditions, especially those with Fibro need to have levels closer to the 100 mark!
