Possible Diagnoses

I am new to the Fibro boards but have been lurking around on Lupus and Kidney Disease boards.  Today I went to see a new Rheumy for a second opinion.  Went to the first one over a year ago(did not go back did not feel like he was listening to me).  I had the best and most informative doctor appointment.  She wants to do a hip x-ray and she told me all my sysptoms sounded like Fibro but she wants to wait for blood work, x-ray, for me to see dermatologist (hair loss) and the have my records from Kidney doc to make sure there were no underlyng inflamation or issues (positive ana in past and lupus and other auto-immune run in family).

How do you deal with the constant muscle and joint aches and pains in (stomach issues just arose 2 weeks ago)?  I can't take anything ofther than tylenol right now because of my kidneys and I desperately need to fell better.

Welcome Connie! That must be hard to have kidney issues and suffer with pain. I have found out lots of heat, light exercise and vitamins such as magnesium, vitamin D and calcium has helped. Limiting Your stress is a huge factor in decreasing pain levels. I found out trying to distract myself will decrease my pain. I will listen to music or do something for someone in need will give me a postive attitude and in return my pain has been distracted.

I wonder what your throid level is? Sometimes it can cause hair loss. Hypothyroidism is not uncommon. Sometimes the ANA levels will be all over the place. Mine ran high one time, but further testing was negative for lupus. Fibro has so many similiar symtoms as lupus, it's so easy to think you might have it. For your sake I hope you don't since you already have kidney issues. I am wondering if you have bursitis in your hip? That is another fun thing that comes with fibro. I use voltaren gel a prescription cream to help the pain. I have known to get steriod injections which work great to. Hopefully you will get your answers soon.
