Hi Anna,
I often feel that if I could just ignore the fatigue and get going on things, a lot of it would disappear....(you know, like when you were a normal person, and you could do that?? And then your blood would start pumping and you'd feel great?) But of course, we can't do that anymore because of the horrific price we'd pay in pain. So I guess that's a moot point. Sorry, just feeling sorry for myself tonight :(
I have fatigue everyday, more at certain times of the day. Morning is bad....my body is sluggish and doesn't want to move, or digest food, or do much of anything but sit and have breakfast and drink coffee and stare. Maybe talk.
Around noon I start feeling better, moving easier, having more energy.....this is when I'm likely to stay on my feet too long to make up for lost time, and then my legs and feet and Sciatic pain really let me have it with the good ol' aching and throbbing.
By early evening, I'm pretty beat. Again, I just want to sit.
Then, around the time everyone else is getting ready to go up to bed, I get my 2nd wind. I can think of all kinds of things I want to accomplish before I call it a night!
There are some variables - when I pace myself, yes, I generally do better. We've said it a million times, but - if we sit too long, we'll get stiff as a board! Then, when we're stiff, it takes more energy to get moving again - thus, more fatigue.
Of course, it's much worse when I don't get enough sleep, or am under unusual stress.
And then, there's the kind I hate most - a weak, shaky feeling where it's like all the strength is suddenly draining out of my limbs, especially my arms. I always feel like I need to eat something when this happens - sometimes that'll help, sometimes not. It can go away for a few weeks, but then I'll get it every day for awhile. It usually only lasts for a few minutes.
How about you?
Debbie
