Anyone here who wears glasses, do you find some days that just having them on causes you pain? What have you done to help? I can't really wear contacts they bugged me more then my glasses, but i need my glasses to do anything really or i get a migraine

You might need them adjusted to prevent pressure points.

I used to wear glasses and I had the laser surgery but I have issues at times with my sunglasses. Mostly during flares my skin gets very sensitive to touch.

I can't wear glasses that are even a little heavy. I wear a very lightweight semi rimless titanium type I found on ebay. they aren't expensive, about $12.

With fibro, you just want to eliminate anything that binds, pinches, or exerts pressure. Makes life easier.

Light-weight is best. I am very near-sighted, and have to have the new plastic lenses, or else I end up with a heavy coke-bottle lenses. I cannot manage anything without glasses.

Have them fitted properly, so they do not pinch either on the bridge of the nose or over the ears.

Brother got Lasik to correct his sight. Unfortunately, my eyes are not within the parameter set up for the surgery, with the corneas being far too small.

I sometimes get eye fatigue by the end of the day.

I wear the Acuvue Oasis brand of contacts, and have far less irritation, dry eye, and redness. They are more expensive, but are far more comfortable. Cheap contacts are like cheap shoes; You regret the purchase after a few wearings

I had heavy coke-bottle lenses even though they were plastic. I couldn't wear contacts due to dry eyes and dry climate. I had LASIK in 2003 and am now wearing glasses again, but at least the lenses are not 1/4 inch thick! Even plastic gets heavy when they are that thick.

Myself09, I'm sorry you couldn't have LASIK. The years I didn't have to wear glasses were wonderful years. The eyesight in my left eye was so bad that it took 45 seconds for the surgery (as an example, the lady in front me had something like a 5-second surgery). My right eye wasn't as bad. However, over the years, my eyes have gotten to the point that I have to wear glasses again.

To the original poster, I do have pain with my glasses when I have a sinus infection, so if your pain is new, that might be something to look into.
