Hi Hallahan,
You might want to read my story in other posts since you have "attacks". I was "under diagnosed" as fibromyalgia by symptoms for a very long time. In 2008, I finally got a complete diagnosis, which required a DNA test. My attacks turned out to be acute porphyria, in my case HCP, and I was one of the unfortunate 50% left in chronic pain. Knowing this "why" was critical to minimizing the frequency and severity of the attacks. I can not undo the disorder, but now I have the best quality of life possible, with an intimate understanding of what to do, and what not to do!
