I'm battling a bad cold today, so I'm taking it easy.
When I feel like this, I like to read something 'simple' since it relaxes me (and also, my concentration is lousy!).
One of my favorite books is "Old Rail Fence Corners," which tells short, first-hand stories of living in Minnesota in the 1840s to the 1860s. It was published in 1914.
A great read!: http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1904805.Old_Rail_Fence_Corners
Just wondering: Does anyone know of any similar first-hand (short) account historical books? I like the older ones, personally, and anywhere in the U.S. would be okay (any state).
Anyway, if you're looking for a great book, I suggest this one. It also reminds me that things could be much more difficult, so even if I don't feel well, I shouldn't complain.
