Done 'um.
Know folks who have had great results & have injections at every visit, in a different area.
Please continue to investigate & ask questions, not only on here, but w/doctor.
I recommend that injections be combined with physical therapy, should you decide to try them. Personally I try physical therapy on my knots until the therapist & I agree that more is needed.
Different medications can be used. (Not always the same). Believe can be steroids or lidocaine.
Once you have made the choice, remind the doctor of what you'll agreed on at every visit
(I saved myself from a severe allergic reaction by asking!)
And doctors do the injections differently: some put the needle straight in, inject & pull it right back out.
These were No problem for me.
Others insert needle, inject, leave needle in & move around to find next tender spot & inject & repeat.
Had the first type with some improvement.
Doctor then decided that the second method works better
but I will never allow those again..
resulted in large hard lumps, bruises, & elevated pain for almost 2 weeks. Those 'new lumps/spasms' set off a chain reaction, pulling at nearby sets of muscles causing more spasms so my entire back ended up a mess !
I have no way to judge if one method is better than the other...
Others, I am sure, will.chime in with there experiences.
