I am a 19 yo girl. My upper back skin and my upper arms on the back are extremely sensitive to the touch...I cannot be rubbed on the back and it has recently started hurting for me to wash my back in the shower with my bare hands...
I am not sure of the exact onset, but am almost positive it started when I had an extreme dehydration episode when I was 15 (did not eat or drink enough, exercised too much, and all while I was on my period...led me to the hospital to get a morphine drip). That is the first time I remember my skin hurting to the touch, and it seemed to have never gone away on my back.
I also am moderately sensitive to rubbing on the rest of my body (legs, arms, stomach, etc.).
I don't know if this is related, but I also have sleep paralysis quite often, which has occurred since a young age....probably 10, maybe earlier. I wake up 1-7 mornings a week completely paralyzed(except toes and fingers, which remain unparalyzed while in REM sleep) and mentally aware of my surroundings. If I have a paralysis episode and go back to sleep after (which I always want to because my brain was forced out of REM sleep directly, leaving me extremely tired) I will definitely have another episode upon waking up again. So I normally just get up at that point.
Going to a dr soon...but wanted to know of any similar experiences?
