We went to a 50th wedding anniversay yesterday. It wasn't formal but it wasn't jeans and a tee shirt kind of affair either. I went through my drawer of various and asundry bras and picked one that I thought wouldn't bring me to my knees. I got dressed and immediately felt the nagging ache on my shoulders.

I got to the party, walked around talking to people and my left foot felt like there was a nail coming through the sole of my shoe. Took it off and looked. Nope. I couldn't dance...couldn't even walk. In the meantime, my shoulders burned from this light weight mesh bra I was wearing. The Hubs looked at me and said "Are you okay?" It must have shown on my face.

I went into the restroom and took the bra off. I'm pretty flat chested so it wasn't too obvious....I hoped. I had a gym bag in the car with tennis shoes in it. I went out, took off my dress shoes and put on my tennis shoes. My 'dress' shoes are soft leather Aerosoles...I had never worn them before but have bought that style for years because they don't have a seam and are so soft. I don't understand why it was so painful to walk in them.

I felt the need to tell all these people why I looked like I just stepped out of Gold's Gym...all of them in their summer dresses and sandals. Me with my floppy boobs and Nikes.

My bucket list includes opening a Fibro R Us store. Aisles of fibro friendly items that have been tested by a team of fibro experts.

My back and legs ache today...oh the humanity.

Donna, I have often wondered if we all grouped together and wrote to Project Runway, we could get them to design some outfits for fibromites. 

If there was a soft, hugging collection, I would buy it!  I hope you feel better.  I can commiserate with you on the bra problem.  (I haven't bought new shoes in 5 yrs, so not sure how I will find new ones for an upcoming event if you have had this problem.) Yesterday we had a new AC installed and the workers were here all day.  I had to put a bra on because it is just uncomfortable for me to be around guys with no bra on. (hubby excluded) LOL  After putting that on within an hour I was antsy, buy the 6th hour they were here, I thought I was going to be squeezed in to and my anxiety was so high, that I fell asleep before they left ...........my hubby had to see them out the door.

It is so weird how clothing can do this to us.

I never wear a bra unless absolutely necessary. I can't stand the tightness and the straps pulling on my shoulders. Over the shoulder boulder holder... lol...

That is my story and I am sticking to it.

Yes, I dress comfortable, but I am the one in the pain...

I have to be careful on how tight I adjust the straps or I have terrible shoulder and neck pain. I hate my bra, but since I'm a 48D it's a must have.

Me too couchtater. I can't go braless. There are times I wish I could get up the courage to get a reduction. I'm like a DD or DDD. WIsh I had a crystal ball. If I knew it would turn out to not be too painful or I wouldn't have complications, I'd do it in a skinny minute. But, my neck and shoulders are some of the worst of my problems and I often wonder if it is the bra size that is contributing to my problem. Hum.......Now, it's got me thinking. But, what if you got a reduction and still had the pain???

Because of my mastectomies I am finally braless and I love it! Not a fun way to get here but it is wonderful. I hated wearing bras. All that shoulder and ribcage pain. YUK!

My dress shoes are SAS sandals (they have an arch support) and my other shoes are Avia walking shoes. No heels for me.

For years i wore bras that hurt my rib age..i never really knew that was from fibro...but..now i can wear a bali brand..daily without the discomfort...as soon as i wore it a day.. I quickly bought a dozen or more, in nude and black...

There are comfortable bras out there ladies!!.. Also if i am wearing one and maybe flaring..if i just put a little topical pain reliever on the right rib cage , then i do fine...

I am kinda wondering if folks do not understand what great topicals are out there now...

I'll be your first customer, Donna...how I'd love to see a store like that!

Sometimes I can't believe how long I have to shop for something to wear, because it has to feel JUST SO. I try to explain some of my idiosyncrasies to my daughters, and though they try, their eyes just glaze over. I don't even understand it - how can they?

All we can do is keep on truckin'  wink

I use soothanol in the morning, on my worst areas..lasts most of day...soothanol x2 i should say..only takes a few drops per area

At night i use pain erase because it has nothing that bothers my sleep...these keep me from having to use more for pain, and can really take the edge off my pain..

I cannot use a lot of meds, so i am always trying other things to stay more comfy

Bras - yuck. eyes Unfortunately, I'm one of those who can't go braless either. I'm down to my last two working bras - the underwire keeps breaking - and I can't find any others in the store that I can tolerate (I can barely tolerate the ones I have). My project this week is to take the unbroken underwires and try to piece new bras together lol. Some of them just have one side that is broken.

Add me to the tennis shoe, aerosole sandal/flats wearing crew. I haven't worn heels or cute shoes in years. Donna, if you open a fibro store, I'll be one of your first customers too. yeah

Oh how I wish your store was open now. I have been wearing the same style bra from the same manufacturer for over 30 years. Guess what? They stopped making this bra and it's the only one that ever fit me right and didn't kill me. I'm on the very last bra of my supply, the elastic is shot and one of the hooks dropped off. LOL.

I have been trying on bras at various stores and most bras are padded now, which I definitely don't need. So I've scoured the Internet and found four of that style. It one size smaller around my chest. They should work since I've lost weight but they at stiff as a board. I'm washing them several times in hopes they will soften up. If not, I'll head to the backyard and start beating them on a rock.

Get that store open fast, Donna!

Try the Soma lounge line for comfortable clothes, and the Soma pajama material is really nice too. Soma is an affiliate of Chico's.

Yes...on-line shopping is a must. However my chain of stores will be a pleasure. I will have a 'comfort center' in the middle with soft chairs and a variety of complimentary soothing snacks. This is where we can take the load off for a few minutes while shopping. The aisles will be wide and the items will be at eye level so we don't need to bring a grabber for the top shelves. Padded floors and no flourescent lighting. No head banger music.

The blue prints are in the works. I will share my fortune with all my fibro girlies!

I used to never go bra less because I was afraid someone would pop in. Now I never go anywhere much so since fibro I never wear one at home. If someone comes over it doesn't bother me anymore. The pain is ruling over my vanity.
