how do docs know abt fibro

Hi All,
I guess i have fibro or CFS ,how to ask pcp for diagnostic to determine what is it ?
I have ;severe brain fog,lots of body pain,memory loss ,vision problems ,Hair loss,so many to list but don't now where to start or will any doc even believe me or say i am being hypochrondriac?

Do you have swelling? Swelling along with these symptoms indicate possible autoimmune disease.

You're not hypo. You're sick.

Keep a journal of how you are feeling. In Fibro 101 there are links to pain charts. Pick one and use that to record the pain you have when doing things. This will give your doctor a good idea as to what is going on with you.

I would also just come out and tell the doctor you have done some online research of your symptoms. Tell him what they are and how long you have been having them and what your search came up with.

Most doctors are probably use to patients looking online for answers nowadays. He can at least start with blood work and checking for tender points maybe.

I would also point blank ask the doctor if he believes fibromyalgia is real. It's a start. Good luck and keep us posted.

I agree with Dawn about asking your dr if he believes that fibro is real there are still a lot of drs who don't.
