Ok so my dr finally gave me something for my fibro but I've never heard of this medicine? Anyone ever tried it, how did it help or did it? I'm real nervous about taking meds as I've reacted to alot lately , but this one doesn't seem to really have side effects like a lot of the others. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! :-)

I think it's a muscle relaxer????

Yeah its a muscle relaxer , was just curious if anyone else rook it and if it helped at all?

I've used Robaxin since the early 1980's. I was originally given it for low back pain. It is a muscle relaxer. I started taking this again about two years ago and only take half what was prescribed for me. I have no side effects and it has helped me sleep because I'm not waking up five times a night because of pain. It has made a significant difference for me.

When I used to take it for low back spasms, I was taking two pills at a time...that's what was prescribed. I knew that when I first started the Robaxin that the first dose would put me right to sleep so I got comfy. LOL. But any of the other doses wouldn't bother me at all. This was important because I had small children at the time and also needed to drive.

I now take one pill up to four times a day. Hope this helps you. How Robaxin works for your body could be different but I hope you have the same success that I have with this medication. I take the generic form...methocarbomol.

He prescribed me 1 twice daily at 500 my. But said that it would take a few days to work so I'm not sure when I should take it, he suggested 1 in the am and 1 in the evening. Hmmm I hope it helps :-) thanks

Oh, I just remembered that was the medicine I was allergic too.

I've got tons of drug allergies especially muscle relaxers for some reason. I hope you do well with it.

I would take it as he suggested. My pain was so intense that I was prescribed two 500 mg four to six times in a 24 hour period. I decided to start out slowly and saw that I didn't need to take so much of it. So I'm taking 500 mg before breakfast, 500 mg before dinner, and 500 mg in the middle of the night. I'm taking it not only for fibro but also for ankylosing spondylitis. By using the Robaxin, I don't have to take ibuprofen in the middle of the night.

I have the Robaxin as well prescribed 1 to 2 tablets three times daily 500mg. I notice some days it works great and then there are days were even if I take all 6 it doesn't touch the pain. Hope this works for you.

I take Robaxim, I've not had any issues with it. Unlike some muscle relaxers it doesn't make me drowsy or tired so I can take it during the day.

Thanks so far so good I've taken 3 doses of then and was able to get alot done today without hurting real bad so hopefully they work for me . Definitely nice to feel like I'm getting some relief.

Thanks so much to all of you for your amazing kind words and help through all of this! It's still so new feeling to me but glad we're finally taking the first steps to the rest of my life :-)

Ohhh.....question for the ladies .....do any of you tend to flare during "that lovely time of the month"?? I have noticed this every month since I've been diagnosed that the first day seems to be the worst? Ugh was finally getting some relief then BAM! I woke this morning in a horrible flare I feel like I got ran over my arms , legs, are so tired I feel like I'm dragging them :-( and you know I've noticed when I flare my neck muscles or something with my throat acts up as well. Geez I can't catch a break with this :-( I really feel like a really good cry right now.

PS to top this all of my sweet son woke this morning with his first tooth and had been really fussy and running a fever today :-( this is awful. Sorry for the rant today

Thats too funny.. I was gonna post about hormones and fibro today....YES...it always causes me issues and did my entire life..and i had it on my mind cause i am having this issue this week..

After my fibro, which is a genetic form became more active in my 30's.. My pain and stiffness was much more acute the day before i started and the first day particularly.

It is bad.. And really slows me down.. And the pain does flare.did he not give you anything other than the muscle relaxer for pain ?
I think most the girls take something for pain as well as the muscle relaxer.

He only gave me the Robaxin my sister gave me a Norco earlier but I'm afraid to take it since I already took my Robaxin today. :-(
