I hope that someone can help me. I have fibromyalgia and live in Louisiana. If anyone lives here or just knows of a good, reliable doctor that will help me with this never-ending pain...I sure would appreciate it. Please, help me. Thank you.

Go to healthgrades.com and read up on the local doctors. There are some primarys who can deal with fibro, but I perfer going to a rheumy.

Hi, Charamom. Sorry you're having such a hard time. I would go with what Joy said...research before you make an appointment.
In fact, I'd call a prospective doctor's office and flat-out ask them if the doctor treats Fibro patients. If their response isn't positive, run! Some are still in denial about
Fibro.
We have a thread here, "Fibro 101," that is full of helpful information. It's worth your while to check it out.
Good luck - I hope you find a good doctor, and I hope you'll keep posting here. We really do understand, and we're here for you.

Welcome charamom to the forum. I just wanted to welcome you to the fibro forum. I don't live or don't know about
Dr's in your state. Hopefully someone will be able to share with you. It would be great if you can tell us about
yourself some. This way we can support you in a better way. You can learn so much here on managing your fibro plus receive great support. You never have to feel alone in all this crazy symptoms we go through with fibro.
I hope you continue to visit often. This forum is very active and can offer great info on fibro. I learned more here then I learned at my Dr's office. Hopefully you can learn a great deal too. Feel free to ask questions.
