I'm about to ask if I'm covered under my insurance for acupuncture, I had it one time and paid out of pocket, but I can't do that again. I did feel a little better for almost 2 months, but I'd like to get it more often than that.

Any one else?

My insurance only covers it, if its done by an MD. In the past i paid for it myself...it did help...but when i asked him to not chase the pain, but treat for fatigue...it helped a lot...

Looking forward to doing more in the future

I don't know if we have an md acupuncturist in town, but I will find out!

I did it for about 6 months, and it never had any lasting benefit - I'd feel better at the time, maybe a couple of hours afterwards, and it was expensive. So that was that.

I received temporary relief and definitely recommend it during flares or if you have a long spell where you can't get any sleep.

My insurance covers it but it is ONLY with the acupuncturist certifying it as treatment for chronic pain. Many policies have an exclusion UNLESS it is for chronic pain treatment.

Luckily, my insurance covers it because my chiropractor does it as part of my treatment there. I don't think they would cover it if I just went to a standard acupuncturist, but since it's considered a therapy at my chiro it's covered (the same as when they do ultrasound).
