Hi, Sickofbeingsore, and welcome! Yes, it's hard to describe fibro pain and fatigue to people who have never experienced it so I usually don't bother. It just aggravates me and makes me angry. So I do the best I can with it and I always pace myself when doing things. Everything gets done but in a different time frame.
Once you find what helps you control your pain, you will do much better. Unfortunately what works for one doesn't necessarily work for another. It's a trial and error type thing but you will get plenty of ideas on this forum. We have wonderful members who love to help one another and, as a bonus, we really do care about each other.
I use ibuprofen with food, Tylenol, magnesium malate, vitamin D3, and a muscle relaxer called Robaxin which has made a significant difference in my pain. This calmed down my muscles and I wasn't being awakened by pain 5 times a night. I now only get up once a night to use the bathroom. The extra rest has really helped me. I also walk daily as my gentle form of exercise and, as I said above, I pace myself when doing things. All of the above have helped me be in control of my pain and fatigue and I've had a full and enjoyable life in spite of this illness. You can, too!
Be sure to read Fibro 101...the first thread on the forum. There are links to good info about fibro and you will learn a lot there, too. There are links about the supplements I mentioned and how they work in the body. Quite a few members get help from them. Also, reading through older threads is good since there are so many great ideas and helpful hints.
I'm looking forward to getting to know you better. Don't hesitate to ask questions because we are here to help you. Hope to hear more from you soon.
