Bsmtresch,
Hello and nice to meet you! I've struggled for many years with IBS too, and what finally helped me (along with daily Miralax and Citrucel) was - ready for a strange one? - eating LESS fiber. Less insoluble fiber, and more soluble. If you want to ask me more about it, we could talk on our Diet and Food Discussions thread. We keep food talk to one thread, because otherwise, it tends to spill out all over the place...I'll bump it back up to the top of the list.
Or, you could email me by clicking the little blue envelope under my name. (If you want to open a HealingWell email account, you can do it by setting it up in the"my profile" section.)
I'm now really regular, but boy, do I remember the pain and bloating when the constipation got really bad. So I feel for you.
I was on Hydrocodone for about 2 & 1/2 years after disc surgery. Now I'm on Tramadol, and trying to get off of it, too. But it's not easy.
I hope you'll keep posting....this is a great place for support. By the way, did you notice "Fibro 101," our first thread? It's well worth your time to take a look there - lots of threads, lots of information.
Debbie
