Does pain in your sleep affect dreaming?

I often have pain during the night while I'm sleeping. The pain will become part of whatever I'm dreaming. It's so weird!

Last night I dreamed I was somewhere and had to walk to get somewhere else (not interesting). BUT I couldn't walk well because my legs hurt so much. I was trying in the dream because I really needed to get where I was going but I just couldn't move quickly at all. Too much pain.

This morning I woke up with very painful legs... so bizarre. This has happened several times. Often in the dream I'll begin to panic because whatever I need to do is hindered by the pain.

Anyone else have this experience?

Yes, just the other night I dreamt that I had pain everywhere in my body. I was extremely distressed in the dream. My husband woke me because he was worried about my "howling".

When I woke up I had a lot of pain all over. I started on Cymbalta and an increased dose of Lyrica a few months ago and have had a few wonderful months where my pain levels had decreased and the fatigue had reduced enough to lead an almost normal life.

The pain seems to be back now. I hope this doesn't mean the new regime has stopped working altogether. Seems like my subconscious knew about it before the waking me did. Neenaa
