I think you have a combination of things going on. You have Fibro plus most likely flares from your accident. I don't see any mention of you taking any medication to help with your pain. If I don't take my medication that I use for pain, my pain gets worse and gets out of control. Then it takes me longer to get it back in control. I use Ibuprofen, Tylenol, magnesium malate, vitamin D3, and a prescription muscle relaxer. I like using these because they are not addicting and don't give me side effects that many narcotics do.
If I forget to take the pain meds, my pain is stronger and then my muscles react to the pain by tensing more which leads to even more pain. It's a vicious cycle so I do take my medication as needed. For years I was taking pain medication every 6 hours around the clock but now I'm down to taking it twice a day. This happened when I started eating Kosher dill pickles and green Spanish olives. LOL. I wrote about it in the Diet and Food Discussions thread so you can check that out.
I also never stay in bed. If I do, I'm more stiff and have more pain. I'm far better being up and moving around.
Also, you are 15 years older. I find as I age I get more aches and pains but that is typical with aging and isn't part of fibro.
You might try getting gentle massages. I get one once a month and they help me a lot. These can help loosen the muscles tensed by pain from the accident as well as Fibro pain. Trigger points will be worked on also. I did a ton of yard work a few weeks ago and was a mess. I had my massage and in two days I was back to feeling so much better again. Make sure you get a massage therapist, if you decide to do this, who has been trained in Fibro massage and you should have a gentle massage. A deep massage could possible hurt you more and I know from experience that gentle massages work great for fibromyalgia.
I also do trigger point therapy on myself when needed. I fixed my frozen shoulder that way and I have been fine for several years. I bought The Trigger Point Therapy Workbook on Amazon and that shows me where to look for the trigger points that are causing me pain.
I hope I have given you some ideas to help you.
