Not gone in spirit, just overly busy!

Hi, everyone! I miss you and I miss being here!! This has been a crazy Summer so far, and looks to only be getting more so.

On Memorial Day weekend, a good friend/old neighbor of ours, who hadn't been to a doctor in 35 years(!) and has always been very able-bodied, suddenly collapsed and was taken to the hospital. They found a tumor on her heart and blood clots in both lungs, but she decided not to have surgery (she's 86)....she realizes her time is probably short, but wants to be home with her animals while she can. So my hubby and I are doing what we can for her (mostly me.) She's a widow and has some inlaws, but they're hours away.

I don't mind doing this at all - she's a delightful person - but given the fact that I was already chronically W-A-Y behind in every area of my life, this has zapped all my Forum time and energy. I don't even know a lot of you newbies, and you don't know me, and I've been a terrible example of a moderator for quite awhile now.

But as Juno said (for fellow fans of the movie), "I'm ill-equipped."

It's so good to hear from you! I'm so sorry about your dear friend and will be sending prayers out to her, along with you and your husband. As Austen said, this is very kind of you and your compassion hasn't gone unnoticed...especially by God. He will bless you for this.

Thank you all for your kind words. I am really trying to pace myself.

Joy, the arrangements for her dog and cat are: us. At least we're going to give it a try. They are a very sweet pair, I just don't know if our 2 crazy mutts will accept them. Our friend is adamant about them being put down rather than taken to the shelter if a good home can't be found :(
