I am new to this forum and have had fibromyalgia for about 34 years...A rheumatologist diagnosed me and called it fibrositis! It was so unknown then that I wouldn't tell anyone about it!. I thought I might be crazy! And that's how doctors have treated fibromyalgia patients for years..

Hi Sdmurr,

Welcome to the forum!!! Our moderator Sherrine has had fibromyalgia for a long time too and I remember her saying it was called fibrositis. I am glad you found the forum.

I still get treated strange sometimes. Like fibromyalgia doesn't deserve treatment or something. But there are still some compassionate doctors out there. But it is sad too.

Now it is known to be physiological But a lot about it is still unknown. There is certainly no cure.

I have a genetic form and have had symptoms since i was a child..
