Hello =) I am very new...to the forum and the diagnosis of Fibromyalgia. I realize I will have ages of reading and learning to do but I wanted to post a question about
just some of my issues/symptoms and see if there are other fibro people who suffer the same things.
I know there are "standard" symptoms most people with fibro have...fatigue, pain, etc, etc...but not sure if a few of the things I suffer from fit in.
Temperature fluctuations - Face will be flushed and burning hot, hands will be FREEZING. I actually have to put ice packs on my face =/ I also have Raynaud's now which is how I received my Fibro diagnosis. They were SURE I had lupus because of these red sores I had around my fingers and finger nails, which I said was from the Raynaud's....but the Rheumatologist said "No...THOSE are not from the Raynauds" During the exam the Rheumatologist said "You definitely have Fibromyalgia, but I am pretty sure you have Lupus as well"..but my ASA test came back negative. So ..... Fibro & Chronic Fatigue was the final diagnosis.
Hair Loss....like a LOT
Muscle...mmm...not twitches...I do get twitches in my right arm...and get leg and hand spasms daily...but my leg muscles will "dance" under my skin....almost like a pregnant woman's belly. They move non-stop for hours on end and they can do this for days or weeks and then stop for weeks. I can never fully relax my foot or I WILL go into a full blow spasm and have to FLY up to flatten my foot out. This happens awake, asleep whenever. It's the muscle movement part that is odd to me. i actually have a video I ave started showing family because I can never get it to do it on demand and they are always flabbergasted, lol. And yes...I have taken potassium, magnesium, calcium, muscle relaxers, etc etc...nothing helps.
Memory....I know brain fog is a thing...but is it a normal part of fibro to forget things like our kids ages? My brain will stick them at certain numbers...like my daughter will be 6 (she is 9)...and she will say "omg MOM I am 9!" lol I do it all the time and it can be very embarrassing when dealing with the school for example and they ask me age, grade, etc and I am staring back with this blank look like the worst mom ever. Of coarse I also have the WORST short term memory ever (which is normal for this as far as I know).
One last thing....anyone have SOME of these problems since childhood? As a young child my legs would ACHE so sever that I would cry and cry and my mom would just sit on the bed and rub them. There was no "trigger" but it would happen usually for sure if I walked or stood too much that day, and then at times it would happen seemingly random for no reason. Sometimes the pain would move up to my arms...but only my legs 80% of the time and then 20% it would spread to my arms as well. Dr's all said it was growing pains, don't worry it will do away. When I was 20 I still had it...asked the Dr. he said growing pains can continue for some into their 20's and not to worry about
it. I am 42 and I still have it. The ache is unreal. The only other thing I remember having as a child was chronic horrible ear aches which did clear up as I aged, but I do have ringing in my ears on and off now.
Anyway, thanks for your help. Was just really curious about
a couple of these things. The list of things that started to happen to me way back when I was pregnant with my first daughter 12 years ago until now....gets longer and longer every year...but just a few things stick out that I am not sure if they fit in with the fibro or not, and who better to ask than people with Fibro =) Sorry if my post is forever long, I ramble
