New medication- groggy feeling

Hey all,
Yesterday I was put on Flexeril 10mg, up to 3 times a day and had my dosage of Gabapentin changed from 100mg in the morning and 100mg at night to 200mg in the morning and 400mg at night. I took 1 flexeril before bed and the 400mg of Gabapentin last night and today I slept in until 10, had the hardest time waking up, felt really groggy all day. I took the 200mg this morning. Fell back asleep in the afternoon for an hour or two. I feel really dizzy and kinda out of it. I haven't taken any more flexeril since last night.
Has anyone else felt this way? It's really hard to function with daily activities feeling like this..

Flexeril is a muscle relaxer. It always made me feel really groggy and loopy. I can only take that type of medicine and the Gabapentin at nighttime if I need to function during the day. I work full time, so I cannot take anything during the day other than Aleve or Etodolac.

If I am home and in pain, I will occasionally take the stronger stuff though. Hope you find relief soon!!

I take a different muscle relaxer and I only take half of what was prescribed. It works great that way and I'm not groggy. I'm to take two tablets 3-4 times a day and I actually only take one tablet four times a day and some days even less. So you might try cutting back that way and see if that helps you. The muscle relaxer has made a significant difference in my pain.

When my doc first had me try flexerill..knowing i am medication sensitive, i only took 1/2... It knocked me out.. The next day i only moved for the bathroom.. So then i kept cutting it into smaller and smaller slivers, trying to find an amount i could tolerate..

For me , it just did not work.. Having said that..i would try another type at some point because , instinctually i know if i can take some form of it, it would help.

Also i would not want to increase the pain med so rapidly from 100 at night to 400...

I try to only change 1 med at a time so i can be sure what i am reacting to...

I sure need medication to help, but find i require much smaller doses to avoid the side effects..

Not every one of us have this sensitivity to meds, but many do. So we need to examine for ourselves , with our docs, where our "sweet" spot is...

I use low dose tramadol, but have had to take 1/4 pill every two hours, to avoid side effects..

Hope you can figure out what amounts you can tolerate.
