Dear Friends,
I'm thrilled my husband and I will be moving shortly to a healthier area of the city. A few months ago we purchased an air quality monitor and it's been a life saver. At present, we live close to an asphalt plant and when the numbers on our air quality monitor are high I experience burning eyes, a sinus headache, pressure in my throat area, increased fibromyalgia pain, and an upset stomach. It's at these times I have to take 2 Benedryl at night to deal with these burning symptoms. It feels like inflammation throughout my body.
Before we purchased the air quality monitor, we opened the windows and couldn't tell if the asphalt plant was operating unless we smelled it. Using the air quality monitor, we realized that the numbers of the large and small particulate matter can be high without there being a smell.
Most days, we haven't been able to open the windows. I'm looking forward to being able to do that.
