A few years ago I was having knee issues and was dx with bone on bone arthritis of my knees. Since then, and especially since having a hysterectomy for early uterine cancer in 2014, I have had various joint pain in almost every joint imaginable. I chalked it up to arthritis and sucked it up every day. about a year ago, I started to get sharp shooting pain in the strangest places - my pinky toe, the top of my hand, my elbow. No rhyme or reason and each pain lasted only seconds but seemed to travel at times. Next I started have some anxiety symptoms. Went to the doc and was put on an antidepressant. Anxiety got better, still having the sharp pains at times but easily tolerated. Next I noticed that I was fatigued even upon wakening. Some days I would be getting ready for working dreaming about the time I could get home, get in my pjs and lay on the couch. I am now having some muscle pain along with the joint pain - some days I can barely lift my arms the tenderness is so severe. Some days I feel great! I went to the doc for my physical and he felt that my symptoms were related to fibromyalgia. I was tested for Lyme and it was negative. He tells me that my IBS and anxiety are often a sign of Fibro. I don't feel terrible but some days I do feel kind of crappy - not the stay-in-bed kind of crappy but the oh-my-Gosh-when-is-this-day-going-to-end crappy. He says the antidepressant he has me on is sometimes what is prescribed for folks with fibro but I don't feel any better since being on it. I am going back to see him in March (my sugar was slightly elevated so I am trying to lose weight so I don't need meds) and I was wondering what other tests should I be asking for to kind of tie up this diagnosis. If it is Fibro then I can deal with it but I want to rule out the other likely causes for my symptoms. Does this sound like anyone else's symptoms? I look forward to hearing from you all. Thanks!
