Lisa, it is consuming you because you are, thinking about it all the time. It is a negative part of your life and this most likely is causing you depression. Depression can make you feel tired, sad, apathetic, etc. It steals your life.
Don't let Fibro do this to you. Have you been given anything to help with pain and fatigue? That's important because once you get in control of the pain. You can do more things and that will make you happier and this helps you feel better, too.
By the way, Amitriptyline can make you feel weak, tired, and a host of other symptoms. Perhaps this medication is playing into how badly you feel. Google it and you will see.
I use ibuprofen with food, Tylenol, magnesium malate, vitamin D3, and a muscle relaxer called Robaxin that has really helped me a lot. These help with pain and they calm things down for me. Then I'm able to get moving, walking, etc.
This morning I was in tears due to pain. A cold front has moved in and had a lot of rain, too. I was in misery but I knew that once I took these things for pain, I would be feeling a lot better...and I am. So it really is so important to find what helps you be in control of your pain. Once you find that you can enjoy life because you know YOU are in control and not Fibro. Don't give in to this illness.
I find keeping a positive outlook is extremely helpful. It can be tough at times but just look at all the good things in your life! You have far more good than bad things so focus more on the good. Take some time for your self to do things you enjoy. Don't tell yourself you can't do it. When I got up this morning I sure didn't feel like keeping my date to go out with a friend for lunch today but now I'm really looking forward to it. I got up, took medication to help me, and started moving. It is something positive in my life today. In Fibro 101 there is a good link about how to maintain a positive attitude when you have chronic pain. You might want to check that out.
Meanwhile, enjoy your day, get moving and stretching, and stop thinking about illness and this lousy Fibro! Your life is far more that Fibro so shove it aside and do something you will enjoy. I do hope you start to feel better soon.
