How u hold down a full time job with fibro?

I can't do it but need the income and don't know what to do.

Prior Planning and discipline.
Also, some jobs are just easier to do with fibro. Manual labor and retail are physically harsh,and clearly will take their toll on the body. White collar work with a desk and chair, plus a computer is a better fit.
I have a schedule I follow that has developed over years to help me manage working more easily. Food and clothing readied the night before. Getting up 15 minutes earlier to pad against fog and pain. Not staying up too late,and not giving into the desire to lay back down. I learned that the hard way.
Also,I would say that working is always easier if you like your job. If you hate it,well, that will be reflected in how you feel. The best that can be said is that if the job is just a thing that is done for money.

I just keep going until the day is over, there are days I cone home and go straight to sleep because I am so tired. I have everhing ready for the next day and I try to go to sleep early when I have to work.

Yes, it can be brutal, but it can be done, at least in my own situation…we have no idea, really, how others feel. Fibro can be so mysterious even among those of us who suffer from it.
I don't do much during the week outside of work, and at least one weekend day is given to recovery. I need the paycheck and I actually love the work, but it uses up most of my "spoons" for the day. I don't go out much at night during the work week. When I come home from work, I go right upstairs, lay on my back, diffuse some essential oil, and relax until my body is not screaming in pain anymore. Then I do dinner, clean up, and spend some time reading or watching tv with the hubs, and then it is bedtime between 9 and 10.
My husband is good with helping with housework and cooking, and he does all the yard work.
So that is how I get it done. I do not allow myself to stay home because of fibro, or I would get into the habit of wanting that more and more. I only stay home if I am sick with something else on top of the fibro.

I will throw in my 2 cents here. I do most of the things that others have said: planning, extra time, not doing anything at all on weeknights after work, using the weekend to recover. I also purposely plan short periods of time off: a long weekend, extra days tacked onto Holiday weekends. I make sure to have a long weekend at least every 6 weeks or so. I have been at my job a long time and have lots of vacation time available. I just tell myself "one day at a time" and I do take days offs for Fibro/RA stuff once in a while.
I mostly sit at a desk, but make sure I get up and move around once an hour. I also have to go out around campus and do inspections, but I make sure I schedule them in the morning since that is when I have the most energy, and no more than 2 a week. Afternoons are for paperwork. I also take a nap on the commute home (set alarm to wake myself up). I take cat naps whenever possible.
It is hard sometimes, but I really have to work, as hubs has been a stay at home parent since the beginning, but now his crohns would prevent him from working anyway.

I have an office job so I am not doing physical labor, but I do get emotionally and mentally drained at times. I take a nap at lunch if I need it. I have asked to have the option to work at home occasionally on my really bad days. As long as I do not abuse this privilege, they have been cooperative with this. I take time off if I need to. I try to keep my weekly plans to the bare minimum of what I need to do with the kids so I can rest. I have hired help with my yard work and my teenage daughters help in the house.
I just take things one day and even one hour at a time some days!!
