I am sleeping way too much. Is the fatigue associated with FMS makes you sleep 15-20 hours a day sometimes? I do suffer with.depression so I didn't know what is actually causing me to sleep so much.
Thanking you in advance for any help!!

That is a lot of sleep. Most with fibro have a problem with sleeping plus being in bed that long will make you stiff as a board and have more pain. I'm not a doctor but in my humble opinion it sounds like you are dealing with chronic fatigue syndrome. Do you have pain in all four quadrants of your body that has lasted for many months or more? That is the hallmark of fibromyalgia.
Sometimes, the more you sleep, the more you need to sleep! That has happened to me. It's not healthy to lay in bed that long. You need to be up and moving around...not only for fibro pain but also to get you heart pumping more and your circulation going which feeds oxygen to the cells. I know I feel better the more active I am.
I never take naps because then I can't get to sleep at night. I put myself on a sleep schedule and get up and go to bed at the same time every day. Right now I'm very tired because I woke up at 4 AM and couldn't get back to sleep. I got up at 7AM, which is my usual time, and I will muddle through the day today and I should be able to sleep well tonight and that puts me back on the schedule. I also avoid caffeine after early afternoon. That will keep me awake too.
I hope you get to the bottom of this. You are sleeping your life away. Even though I'm really tired, I plan on grocery shopping today along with running other errands. I refuse to let fibro run my life. Y-a-w-n

We do usually have sleep issues, as sherrine says..
I usually cannot nap, unless i am sick with fever..then i sleep..
I also have to avoid caffiene except in the morning..
Set small goals for yourself to be up and moving more..
Today i was in a flare up..but i made a list and made myself do it
Staying in bed makes us too weak...oh...have they ever checked your vitamin d levels??? When my d levels crashed one winter was when i had so much daytime sleepiness..
Please be sure they check for that..had so much more pain , weakness, fogginess and sleepiness with that
