I do not suffer from depression. I think positively and it’s helped me a lot. I know of no physical “link” to depression. If there was, I’d be depressed too. I think the only connection between fibro and depression is that when you suffer from chronic pain it beats you down and you become depressed over the situation you are in. It’s hard to have a painful illness and the doctors don’t know what causes it, don’t have anything specific to take the pain away, and some doctors don’t believe it exists! It doesn’t leave much room for hope so people become depressed. But there is ALWAYS hope...hope for a much better day.
Check out Fibro 101. In there is a link to how to maintain a positive attitude when you have chronic pain. This is very helpful. I do know what depression feels like. My husband died suddenly and I became extremely depressed. Depression hurts and there isn’t a lot you can do about it. So this link could help you work your way out of depression.
We had a mod on this forum who suffered from depression and she found that a light box helped her a lot. So there is another idea for you. I do hope you start feeling better soon.
