Jenn Brea did the documentary "Unrest". She has written several times on her facebook page about
her surgery. She says it improved her MCAS (Mast cell activation syndrome). I have seen some other patients with MCAS say neck surgery helped them with calming their mast cells as well.
This is quite "thick" to read through, so I don't know if anyone will.
It reminded me of reading about
a get-together many years ago, of healthcare professionals from several different fields. It was just a brainstorming session to see if their "sharing" might lead to anything.
A surgeon who did a lot of chiarri malformation surgeries and the like, said that he had done surgeries on some people who had previously been diagnosed with fibromyalgia, and after he performed a surgery, the fibro symptoms were relieved. He was finding some people with a buckled ligament very high up in their necks, and he would relieve it with surgery. Then someone at the meeting started doing imaging of the necks of fibro PX. It was a more time consuming way to do the MRI's, and the neck had to be angled properly to see the buckled ligament. The neck had to be flexed, I believe, but I could be wrong. It's been years since I read it. Anyways, he did repeatedly find that buckling.
Sorry I took so long to realize that Jenn Brea also had this shareable post on Medium. Tonight I was looking for something she wrote, to pass along to a man I friended on FaceBook, and I came across this again, and saw that it appears to be shareable here on HealingWell. I have another friend who has had a surgery this year for craniocervical instability. She is kind of quiet on facebook, she rarely ever posts, so I don't know how she feels about
the results, as far as mast cells and her pain.
