Does any one have Nash and ringing in the ears as a symtom?

Animal_Lover, I read your question and looked on the web to try to find a site that had both problems (NASH + Tinnitis). I couldn't find any correlation. That doesn't mean that there isn't just that I couldn't find one. I would strongly suggest that you call your Dr and report it. Some medications can cause tinnitis too. Also, you said " I have a past hx of Menier's and this is common to Menier's ". Since Meniers is an inner ear problem you should have it checked out soon. As you know your symptoms can become worse.      Hi this is ggirl, I just joined the forum a week or so ago. I have a son who was just diagnosed with NASH in November. All the gastrologist did was tell me what he had, that his liver is starting to harden and told us to change his diet.  My son is suffering with so many different ailments (i.e. severe headaches, nausea, stomach pain, dizziness and blackouts) he is only 12 yrs old.  I agree with Shelly, would call your doctor ASAP, I have decided to call my sons physician and have him placed in the hospital and have a complete line of test run on him.  I don't know alot about NASH I know more about alcoholic liver disease because of my husband.  But, NASH is just so confusing to me, at least with my husbands disease there is an underlying cause and reason with my son no-one knows why or can give me any other answers.  Good luck, let us know Gina

Hello Melissa and welcome to HealingWell. So sorry that you haven't gotten any relief from the ringing in your ears. I have it too. It comes and goes every few days. I don't have any liver disease nor do I have high blood pressure but it sure sounds like I can hear the blood rushing through my veins. It's very irritating.

Gina, I am 35 yrs old and for 6 yrs my liver enzymes have only been slightly elevated.  At first it was about 60 -70, Normal I believe is 0-40. and so I never realy paid that much attention and every doctor that I ever saw I always told them that it was normal for me because no one told me any different.  It wasn't untill I saw a new doctor earlier this year and he asked to do new lab work and to see past lab work that was done that I realized how bad it had gotten.  But the thing is when I went for the ultra sound it only said that it was mildly enlarged and with minimal fatty deposits.  The thing that really told us how bad it was, was the liver biopsy.  But with most insurances you have to start from the bottom and work your way up.  So you start with lab work, you ask to be referred to a specialist like a gastroenterologist, and you go from there.  Does your son have diabetes or high colesterol??..  I started this whole thing back in June and didn't get the real diagnosis untill the Middle of December.  I'm not a drinker or drug user I don't have high blood pressure  or colesterol, but I do have insulin resistance, and I am about 90 pounds over weight and I have hypothyroidism.  But I wasn't always heavy it's only been the last 5 yrs that I realy started putting the weight on.  So I don't think it realy has to do with how fat you are but just the the liver sometimes malfunctions.  And then because we are a nation of fast food, fast live styles and low exercise, and junk food eaters that we are now having these problems..  When I was younger I don't remember ever realy having patato chips and candy and Soda pop and all that extra stuff.  For us it was apples oranges carrots and cucumbers, and so on with out the Ranch Dressing..  My Grandfather died of cerrhosis of the liver but for him he was an alcholic.  My sister is also now having high liver enzymes on her lab test.  What I belive is that, we probably have pre-cursers for this desease.. But no one really know because there just hasn't been enough research on Nash.  This is all still very new for me.  And I am still licking my wounds and running around with my head in a fog.  Try to sort it all out.  But my advice is if your feeling like your not getting answers from the doctor that you have change doctors untill you find the one that will work well with you.

Hi everyone!! Just wanted to let you know that my lap band surgery went well last week and recovery is going good. I'm still on a liquid and pureed diet but it's not that bad. I'm not really very hungry and it is weird to know that I have to eat a little every couple of hours regardless. I did catch a cold from my girls though. Does any know what cold medicines someone can take and what ones to stay away from. My daughter who is pregnant was told by her doctor she can take Robatusin DM so I figured if it was safe enough for her it should be ok for me.

We did get good news today, my daughter is having a boy.  This is my first grand baby!!!

Hi Melissa, I am glad to hear that your surgery went well. I am so excited for you about that new grandson on the way. I saw my grandchild for the first time yesterday via ultrasound. It was so amazing. My daughter is 12 weeks pregnant. The baby was moving its arms and legs. We saw its little heart beating. I was so surprised. I didn't expect the baby to be so developed at 12 weeks. She is due in August. I hope you find something to make your cold a little bareable.

     Animal-Lover, I had ringing of the ears at one time and the specialist I went to told me about 89% of all people have it. (and some of them have been known to go insane) needless to say I did'nt go to him again.

     One of my brothers told me he had suffered from it for a very long time till someone suggested he stop taking asprin. At that time I was taking quite a few so I stopped , and so the ringing went away.

     However that's not the case now. I was told liver damage also affects hearing and eyesight. I'm sure thats not what you want to hear right now. But thats what I have been told by the team of Dr. I've seen.  Take care. june Woluld like to hear from you again.

How soon will you recover from your lapband procedure. An how long to see results.

about your meds. ask the Dr. if you can crush it and mix it with applesause of something else. If it is a liquid same thing. I know there are some that you are not allowed to crush such my potassium , and thats one of the largest pills I have ever had to take and it isnt coated so it sometimes gets lodged in your throat. Sx was on 1/28/08 so it has been 2 1/2 wks now and realy after 2 weeks you can go back to work. Exercise and walk all that but NO LIFTing anything more than 15-20 pounds. I did go to the Doctor today and the do have a diaretic in pill form that you can cut up. I also got some Cipro for the Urinary Tract infection. With This sx. I will only beable to eat 1/2 cup of food at any given time basically the sechedule is 1/2 cup of food 5-6 times a day so that works out to about every 2 hrs. and 40 oz. of some kind of fluid or protein drink for the rest of my life. Absolutely NO Carbonated drinks and no caffine for a few weeks after Sx. Because of my age and severety of the fatty liver this is the only possible treatment for the fatty liver. at lease that is what I understand. the more wt. I loose and the less fat that is in the liver the better chance that the liver can recover what is left of the liver. It is realy scary because who goes through stuff like this at the at of 35. To me this is an older persons desease. and you know that there are so many other Obease people out there in the world. Before December I didn't even know that this could be so life threating. It makes me wonder how many other people are walking around out there not realy knowing weather or not they have a silent kill inside of them. I didn't for 6-7 years I was just told by Doctors that I have slightly elevated liver enzymes but it was nothing to worry about. No body told my how sever or how bad it could become untill I switch to a new doctor. Even he just said I want you to see this Gastro Doc. But didn't realy tell my what he suspected.
