relapsers qand higher doses of interferon.

Hi everyone.  Tommorrow I go to see my liver doc and he has told me my options now are to go on a higher dose of interferon or to go on maintainence therapy with interferon.  Sorry, I can't figure out how to stop this italics on my new computer.  Anyway, I am a relapser and I have cirrhosis.  Interferon was pretty difficult to be on, so I am worried about how I will do on a high dose.  Has anyone been on the high dose?

I have done the higher dose - its called Inferge - you can look it up on the internet. Its daily and the side effects increase with the dose.

It did not work for me.

I'd ask what your chances are for a full recovery (clear) after 1 year - as opposed to maintainence treatment.

The drs thought it had worked for me, but then they found out it didnt and they told me that they couldnt give it to me again,
I use to have long thick hair, now its stringy and thin because of these meds.

Hello Camy and welcome to HealingWell. Sorry that you have this awful disease but you came to the right place. We have quite a few members that have AIH and can give you a lot of advice and support.
