kissing with a cut.. pls help.

hi,

im new to this forum and am really worried abt contracting hep.

a few months ago, a guy french kissed me, for about ten seconds.

i am not aware of his status but he is sexually active.

when i got back, i realised my tongue had a cut that night, and it was an open wound.

two wks later i had fever for a day and diarhoea for a few days.

what is my risk of contracting hep b and c?

and are dere any documented cases of transmission thru kissing?

If you are worried about contracting Hepatitis or any other communicable disease you should make a doctors appointment and get tested for them. Sorry we really can not answer your questions. We are not healthcare professionals. Our forum is a support forum for people already diagnosed and living with Hepatitis.

 if any body is worried about get hep c or be maybe you should be more carefull about things. if you are worried you should be going to the dr now!!!! and yes this is a support group for people with hep or liver disease and the caregivers who deal with the disease day in and day out. sorry pink grandma i just had to put my two cents in, have a great day. eyes annette

 hi victorytotheyellowwants, welcome to the hepatitis forum. with all the information out about hep a b or c and the way you can get it, people need to get educated about about theese diseases like hep and HIV both very horrible, people need to think before they do. and there are times people contract these diseases by other means like blood transfusions medical workers need be very carefull. we have people on this forum who have hep, end stage liver, cirrohsis, and then we have the caregivers this is a place to vent for all of us we are very passionate about this disease. we are not drs so people who think they might have this disease really need to go get checked its not that we do care, we care!!

 i lost my father to this horrible disease in 06 cirrohsis, i was a caregiver for 6 months i didnt have a chance to even take a good breath, some of these caregivers have been doing it for years. here on the hepatitis forum we care a lot more about the disease and what it can do to the body. please excuse my spelling.

can i ask, am i more at risk of hep b or c? and if by doin treatment early, can one be totally cured from it?

You can ask, but sorry I have no answers for you. Google Hep B and C and you should be able to find all your answers.

You should find all you need to know at www.cdc.gov. They address your question directly. You shouldn't expect that anyone here can give you any medical advice. While there are a lot of people who know a lot and care a lot, and they can talk about situations and offer support, it would be unwise for them to offer medical opinions, even if they knew. If you can't find info on line, you should talk to your doctor or contact the American Liver Foundation at www.liverfoundation.org/.
