John, you have a rough road ahead. Please remember that we are with you in thought and will be praying for your recovery.
I know that morphine comes in liquid solution and also a suppository form. Your insurance should pay for your liquid meals, if there is a prescription for them, as they are medically necessary. Of course, you can also whip up smoothies, soups, etc., in a blender. However, you will probably feel too awful and tired to bother with that, so the high-calorie liquid meals are the way to go. You will probably lose weight and also have no appetite, so it is important to do those liquid meals.
From my own experience with cancer treatment, I can tell you I felt truly awful after the chemoembolization and just wanted to stay in bed and sleep. So we will understand if you are not up to posting. However, if you can post the results of your PET scan when you get them, and after G-tube insertion and radiation just post 2 words--"doing okay" or "still here," we will all appreciate it.
Big hugs,
Connie
