Pink grandma.
You're right, I can not force someone to do something they will not. But before you do something, you should know about the opportunities that exist.
There you and I comes other into their lives. By providing information, to tell about our views.
Thereby there is more informations.
Having more informations and ideas, gives a greater opportunity to make the right choice.
Right choices, is only based on the individual's own situation.
Actually, the only thing that I`m saying is, that you must be careful not just to let the circle of pain go on and on.
It must be broken somewhere.
Whether alcohol is a disease, there can be no doubt that it is not, but toomuch to drink is a source of disease.
The disease lies in our bodies, liver, kidney and brain. It is a lack of alcohol in the brain that makes you drink more.
Liver and kidney disease should be treated, but it is the brain to be affected, and preferably in the moments when it is ready.
After having worked the brain, you may find that the person is willing to try another life without alcohol.
Only then you start to deal with the real source of the diseases that alcohol has led to and only then are you on the right path to break the circle, at the source.
I would not think that my wife's illness may be treated as a disease caused by alcohol.
I think your argument is cheap as you perfectly know (or should know) that thees 2 situations are not comparable.
My wife's illness is not something that fills either me or others with the same pain as the alcohol can cause to the family.
