Welcome to the forum, Lila! I believe that 70 is the cutoff age at most transplant centers, but it does vary from center to center. Live donation is more than having the same blood type. There are other criteria, and of course both parties have to be well enough to survive the transplant. Your uncle was likely not a transplant candidate because of his liver cancer.
