Sandi,
I too read through your story with Mike. I am so sorry for your loss. It sounds like you both cared for each other so much !
I want to thank you for your posts/advice on my thread and wish you the very best on your move. I know it must be difficult for you.
I always find it helpful to hang onto the glass half full theory. When bad things happen it is always easier to see/feel how the "glass is half empty" and to even dwell on it. But when you set your mind to it - seeing/feeling that that same glass it is actually half full can change your whole mindset and outlook.
My father ( back in March) had to have is leg amputated ( loooong story for another day ! ). Upon completion of his surgery/amputation my siblings and I waited in the hall for Mom to go into his room and see how he was doing - mostly mentally - and to give them a little private time to deal with things. Mom was a nervous wreck ! She went in the room and hesitantly asked him how he was doing/feeling. His glass half full answer was " I'm doing good but I'm a little shorter on one side!" That answer and attitude brought Mom straight out to us with a grin from ear to ear. Dad didn't and hasn't since focused on his leg being gone - just where do I go from here !
Each and every one of has a predetermined plan and purpose in this life. Your's and Mike's included each other. Mine and Dave's have included each other too. Even though, at times, things have been tough, I know we are supposed to be together. After reading your story, I know it was the same for you and Mike. Although this move may be difficult, I think that it is what you are supposed to do.
I was going to say that this a new beginning for you, but that is wrong. It is a new chapter in your journey- the glass if half full !
You are dehydrated - drink it up !
Diane & Dave
