Through our liver transplant story we 'met' a lovely couple from Ohio.  Jerry and Chrandra; Jerry is waiting for a liver - with a very rare blood type (AB-) he was placed first on the list in his area. 

They received the call last night and Jerry is being prepped for surgery which will begin at 10:00am today. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers today. 

We couldn't have gotten through 'our' transplant without all the support we received.....much of it from this very forum.  Thank you.

I have taken much from your blog site Pam, and tried to leave a message there one day, but it didn't seem to get submitted. I think you and Ron are inspirational. Thank you for sharing xx

I hope my hubby's transplant comes soon.... I don't know how much more he can take, but we keep positive. He is blood group 0+ and although it is not rare, I understand that he can only receive from 0+ or 0- donor, and so we wait...

Pam,
Please give Jerry and Chandra my best wishes and tell them they are in my prayers also. I hope his surgery is successful and he recovers quickly! Praying for a better, and healthier life for them!

Goddess, waiting is the worst thing about the transplant; the hurry up and wait........is nerve wracking - I pray it comes very, very, very soon!

When I first came here, I was one of the only transplant patients. You have no idea how thrilling it is to see others get a new liver.

We are thinking about Jerry and praying for a quick recovery...quick like Ron's.

I, myself, am crying my eyes out. The waiting is so hard. I wonder if I will be as teary eyed when it's Mike's turn.

I've talked to Chandra many time and JERRY is doing great - transplant went perfect - ICU with no incident - vent removed mid-day - he's talking and joking - of course, a long road yet to go - and at this point - it is one day at a time.

The waiting is the worst - once the call comes - you'll go into action and you'll be strong - and take one day at a time - just like I did - and Chandra's doing now.  You'll be amazed at the strength you'll find - I have faith in you!

Thanks for your kind words about waiting, Pam. It is so stressful. Hubby has now been admitted into ICU as his HE caused Dr's to believe he might be a danger to himself and others. He is on breathing machine and sedated. I hope they can control the HE and bring him around soon, they say he is stable - but it is so scary to wait and watch. God willing, he will have a liver soon, I don't know how much more he can take.
