Hello everyone and happy Monday. On August12, 2011 I began the Pegasis injections, my insurance paid for the medication in full. On August 16 I got a call saying there was a mistake that I did not meet the criteria for Pegasis, but I did for Peg Intron. I was lead to believe that Peg Intron was simply a generic for Pegasis Interion. After talking to my Doctor I found out that is simply not the case. In fact the side effectsm are worse and the success rate of Peg Intron is much less then Pegasis. My Doctor will not write a script
for the Peg Intron, he does not like it and my insurance will not pay for the Pegasis. I am already almost three weeks into treatment. The pegasis cost 2700.00 dollars pe rmonth... YUCK... Has any one tried Peg Intron? Does anyone know of places that help pay for meds that insurance won't??
Thank you for any and all help and suggestions..
Bella
