Added Symptom of Hep C ( HCV)

Mike, if you've read many of the posts here, you know that insomnia and days and nights being mixed up is the norm for liver disease patients. Even post-transplant, I am gradually slipping back into that again. After all, I still have hep C. I experienced night sweats for about a year, about 6 yrs. ago. I would wake up to find my gown and sheets soaking wet. I wasn't seeing a hepatologist at the time and never mentioned it to my PCP. The sweats just went away as suddenly as they came.

I hope that your enzymes come down, too, but don't be surprised if they don't. Hep C is a progressive disease and is going to gradually destroy your liver without treatment. Have you looked into the new treatment regimen?

I have asked my Hep doc many times if there is any new treatment I could take to slow down the Hep C virus destroying my liver. He keeps saying the combo would cause me more harm at the stage of my liver disease.

I would be willing to try anything Connie to get well.

MamaLama, my Total Biliburin was 0.6, Creatine 1.43 & INR 1.1 and according to my hep docs letter from bloodwork done on 12/01/11, he states," your electrolytes and blood counts remain stable but liver test were a bit higher than in the past". I have gained 8 to 10 pounds since the summer, but it is more muscle mass from protien than ascities. My Ascities is minimal. Not sure how the high LFT's effect the MELD score! Also experiencing bad cramping and the insomnia for the last 3 to 4 weeks.

Cramps are sometimes caused by low potassium, also. If you have other lab results, check to see what the potassium was.
