Husband having best day since PA arrival

Phil is having his best day since we got here !! He is sitting up in the chair, kidneys are functioning a little, lactulose not working so good, ammonia is up to 79. He is having some gas/ air in his bowels, but they are dealing with it. he had alot of pain from that, but it's improving and he is resting better.

I calculated his MELD from bloodwork for today and his MELD is 37!! His Bilirubin is 7.8!! Liver is not good!! So anyhow, thursday he is supposed to be relisted. If there are no infections . . it could be soon!!

Debbie-so glad that Phil is having a good day. You both need that so badly. I am praying for you both (and for the donor's family) that his wonderful gift of a new liver will be ready when he gets through the week off the list to clear that infection. Keep resting up...Phil's new "birthday" is going to be soon!

Great news!  The good days are sometimes so few and far between, you really appreciate the it when you get them.  Hope everything is going good otherwise.  That new liver cant come soon enough!!!!   Thoughts and prayers to everyone!!!

Another great day!! MELD is 39 today . .still waiting to relist . . Thursday is not far off!! He is really doing exceptionally well, and I am soo very happy. His Dr's are really happy in the change since the day he came in :) My cousin is coming in tomorrow and I am having lunch with a new friend on Thursday . . hopefully her job inter view is a success tomorrow!!

Good deal. A new friend is always something to celebrate. So glad Phil is doing so much better. Thurs not far away. I'm headed to B & B to have pizza with hubby. He called me today from the B & B and asked me to go to the movie the War Horse with him tonight (if he feels well enough). A DATE.....he must be feeling better..hasn't asked me out on a real date in ??? years. Sounds fun, hope he is feeling well enough.
