potential liver being examined and tested by Dr's!!! I should know by 4PM if its a go or not!! I am soo excited, I hope I'm not dissapointed!! They are treating this like its a go. Papers are signed and nothing by mouth. an X marks the spot already . . I'm doing a load of laundry to pass the time, gonna grab a sub for later/tonight and pack up the laptop and back to the hospital!!

Exciting news, Debbie! Prayers that it's a "go." I have to go out, but will check in as soon as I get home late this afternoon.

Debbie, I'm at home on laptop today and will be here all day checking. Give us a shout. The surgery is long long long once it begins. Mike was 13 hours and it was 17 hours from first anesthesia before I could see him...all PINK and almost normal, with every tube imaginable hooked up to him. BUT PINK. My favorite color.

Fingers and toes crossed, prayers in progress.

  Hope hope hope....that this is the liver for the two of you.  I am excited for you both.  Hope all goes smoothly.  I have been checking HWell regularly waiting to hear you two got your liver..... Am lighting a candle this morning.

(It's been awhile for the candles.)

Hoping and praying that the liver is good!!  Try to keep yourself busy, your nerves can get the best of you when you are so excited.  We will all be waiting for updates.   Best of Luck!!!!!!! smilewinkgrin

I am soooo excited for you!!!! I hopefully can come down tomorrow if it is a "go" and keep you company for awhile. I am praying and my fingers are crossed!!!! <3

I am fit to be tied right now . . I'm packing water and snacks for the wait. His Mom is sitting in GA on GO!! Gotta get the computer packed up too. Thanks for all the prayers!! I'll keep you posted. Should hear about the liver by 4PM maybe sooner. They may not start the TP til early morning . . I think the donor is being kept alive to harvest the organs, but I am not sure.

I will post again from the hospital

It is 3:45 Eastern Standard.  My heart is in my throat waiting to hear from Debbie.

I get sooo emotional each time one of these comes through.

It's 5 PM ET and I just got home. Thought for sure we would've heard something by now. ML, any idea why Mike's surgery took so long? Mine was 7 hours and that was considered a difficult surgery due to the adhesions, removing old mesh, etc.

FYI......Spoke to Debbie just now. Phil came out of surgery about an hour ago and all is great! Liver and kidneys are responding!!! Her mother in law is flying in around 9 am (so she should be tat the hospital via taxi soon) and they are going to be able to see him. Yipppeeee!!! :)

Prayers answered. Glad Phil's Mom is getting to Pittsburgh. Sounds like this is going to turn out well.
