It shouldn't take longer than a week to get MRI results. Give your doctor's office a call. Usually, they want you to come in to discuss results.

Hi Everybody,

My Dr called with my MRI results, she said no spots showed up so I am releived to hear that. I am having a biopsy next Wed. She also said she mailed me a copy of my MRI report to look at. I hope everyone is doing well, Terri

Thanks for the update, Kaos. That's good news. OTOH, if the MRI had showed liver cancer, you would automatically get additional MELD points to bring you up to 22.

Hi Everyone,

Hope all is will with everybody, Just a update I had my biopsy Thursday all went well, it was kinda scary, The worst part was they had alot of trouble getting my iv in took many jabs and four different people trying, finally they had a lady from a different team come in and she got it first try. Hope to hear results next week. Terri  PS  they really should warn folks about the click the biopsy needle makes, I about jumped off the table..lol

Thanks for letting us know about your biopsy. Do you know the results yet?

The Mayo radiologist did warn me in advance about the sound...in fact he demonstrated it. Loud noise. He also went in very deep with the needle to numb me, so I didn't even feel the actual biopsy.

So far, it sounds like you don't yet have much damage, but the biopsy will tell the whole story.

They have a terrible time getting an IV in me. It usually takes several different people trying. For my regular blood work, I have 2 guys who can get one in. I always ask for one of them to do it. When I require a larger needle for an MRI or CT scan with contrast, someone from the PIC team has to locate a vein in my upper arm through imaging. It hurts like h---! smhair

I've had several biopsies and never had an IV. Do your docs always do that?

I've never had an IV placed for a biopsy, either.

hi im new from cali. im 45 just new to all this i just got diagnosed also i contracted it dont know when i did check 2 years ago i had not had it my husband has it and i went and got a tatoo so im not sure how i got it its been a year now that it has entered my body i pray i caught it on time what can i expect?

Paloma, welcome to the forum. It is best for you to start your own thread, by clicking on New Topic instead of Reply. Give it a subject, then post. This will prevent you from falling between the cracks.

You most likely contracted hep C from a tattoo or from your husband. It doesn't really matter how, though. You need to get an appointment with a GI doc or hepatologist to discuss treatment. It is not going to go away on its own. That sometimes happens early on, when your immune system is able to fight off the virus. However, I think you are probably past that point
