Dry Run, meld and "the call"...

For those who had a "dry run", how soon after did you wait, until you received your transplant?
Also what was your meld score at time of transplant and how long did you wait for "the call"?

My mom had a dry run 15 days ago and it's been so difficult/anxious waiting for "the call". Her meld is 25. My mom has HCC (Hepatocellular carcinoma).

You know she's at the top of the list....you must remember that it's a good thing when the doctor decides to wait for a better liver, when you think about it.

You don't want to have to get a sub-par liver and then have to retransplant down the road.

We waited eleven days, but much depends on where you are listed as you know, no dry run in our case.

@ Mae...your brother waited 11 days from the time he was listed?...that's amazing!!! What was his meld?

Hi, WD. I got a call/dry run at 2 1/2 mos. on the list. From then until transplant was another two weeks...so 3 mos. on list until transplant. At transplant, my MELD was 25, thanks to extra points from HCC, and 3 mos. on the list added another 3 points.

Where is your dad listed?

I'm so sorry I haven't been able to respond to your last email. My husband was in the hospital for several days - we're home now and he's doing much better. How are things going?

Uh, oh....tis the "it's always something" come to get you guys again.

Us too...need to check Mike's aortic stenosis....he may need a valve.  Appointment early next month.
