ML reporting in. I am in North Carolina somewhere on the road.
Have been some weeks visiting grandkids first then checking in with 66-year-old sister who is having some kind of cognitive problems that are likely secondary to bipolar disorder she has suffered from her whole life.
She lost her partner of 41 years 3 years ago and her neurologist calls it a type of PTSD where the loss sets up physical and emotional challenges that can overwhelm a person
Sis is a snowbird who lives alone in a sweet duplex near me in FL. Tho I urged her to stay the summer with me, she went north to her other apartment on Long Island, NY.
Things started going wrong from the get-go
Staying inside for days in PJs and crying the days away. Stopped taking her psych drugs. Not paying her bills. Her psychologist talked to me and said she needs an aide or needed to come back to Fl where I take her to dr appts and made sure she is eating and taking her meds. This time I will add bill paying and rx filling to my chores
She resisted this plan for 10 days and finally agreed at a tearful psych session we both attended. And then we took 3 more days to pack her up and get on the road. The drive is over 1200 miles. She wants to help with the driving. But I am only letting her do straight I-95 sections and I did NY to DC as it is horrible!!!!
We stayed at an awful cat friendly hotel near Richmond Va last night after spending 9 hours driving 400 miles. Lots of bumper to bumper.
Mike has been on his own since 7/17 and seems good. He has had yet another good lab report where his Ast/Alt are still low. Not perfect. But better than in a long time. Evidently he got a new computer for my birthday. Hahaha. You know who will be using my new computer!!!
Well the phone has tiny letters so I'll go. Sis is driving and I have to pay attention or we'll be driving north. Again.
Hugs
MamaLama on the road again.
