Hi,
Thank you so much for your blog.
I am a 59 year old male with hep c type 2.
I am on day 40 of Sovaldi & Riba for the most part it has been tolerable the RIBA is tough for me, Fatigue headaches stomach cramps insomnia, it is tolerable and I hope and pray saving my life.
I was diagnosed over 40 years ago and maintained annual blood work ultrasounds and 3 biopsies 2 years ago my enzymes were elevated and my viral load was 14 million stage 3 of 4. Late last year my doctor said I was a perfect candidate for the new treatment.
I am a little concerned I got the results from my 30 day blood work my enzymes were good my viral load was 108 my doctor said in the trials that over 92 pct were non detectable. Doctor said we will do 60 day blood and hopefully levels are down or God willing non-detectable.
Any one who can share there experience strength and hope I would appreciate the support. I am trying to remain positive!

Ml, do not understand the bump..and I did send email asking for clarification, no response. this forum may just be a little over my head to keep up with and rules, etc. I won't be posting any more. Will pray for all to do well and svr! Tks for the support from all of you. May look in from time to time to see how all are doing. God bless you all.

"Bump" brought Steve's thread to the top...you couldn't find it and sent me a message...so I bumped it to the top for easy finding. Sorry if you were offended in some way. No intention there.

Though things are tough for you right now, I hope you continue to at least read the encouraging posts.

When Mike was on the Ribavirin (with Interferon) he was really affected by the meds...especially with emotions, depresson, and fog. So, I certainly understand. Maybe just try to read the Sovaldi threads from time to time even if it is hard to post.

The treatment is short these days...not a year!!!!!

Days 39-48: Still going as good as ever. Nothing out of the ordinary happening.
iplaycarvin, it's great to see all the newbies starting treatment. Anybody starting treatment is encouraging!
And music, I hope you will continue to post your progress from time to time. You were one of my original inspirations for starting my own thread and I would personally be sad if you left- I hope you will reconsider!

Steve, we have seen you post some information for everyone and encourage the others, but we haven't had YOUR news...new labs? New sides? The new treatment regimens seem to be working well. How are you this weekend? Hugs, ML

Days 49-55: Well, I'm still pretty boring. No sides to speak of except for I don't think I'll be running any marathons. Slight shortness of breath has been somewhat persistent, but barely worth mentioning. It is so slight, I only notice it if I think about it. I probably wouldn't purposely head up to a really high elevation at this point, either :)
But honestly, I feel really good. I'm still sticking to much better than before treatment. I've worked my full normal schedule every day and haven't not done anything because of treatment so far.
Thanks for checking ML! 8 week labs tomorrow, then off to Vegas for a week! Something that was already pre-planned. It would be great to get a happy email from Dr's office while I'm away, but I'm still a very "believe it when I see it" guy when it comes to stuff like this :) Anything could happen, I suppose. I always feel confident of others positive results, but in the back of my mind, I think I could be that one guy...
I'll post results as I get them.

Steve - Thanks for posting. It's never boring to us. It's important. I should get my Sovaldi+Riba this week. Kaiser has been great so far. You won't be the one guy - but I'm sure I will be...

Hi Everyone
My name is Robert , started my treatment 3 days ago on Fri the 28th...Sovaldi and Ribapak 1000 dose pack, so far feel pretty good but felt real tired a couple hours after taking my Ribavirin last night, also had a hard time getting up in the morning just felt lazy and tired and had a slight headache but i force myself up took a shower and went to work, right now I feel fine. my appetite is fine , I feel more thirsty at early morning and had to get up and drink water, pee, then go back to sleep. So far I'm doing fine, we all have different reactions to our treatment and I hope I don't have many side effects, thanks everybody for sharing.

Viral Load results are in. Saw Cirque Du Soleil "O" last night and am just waking up to this :)

3/31/2014- <15 HCV RNA Not Detected (this after day 55 of treatment and before day 56)
3/03/2014- <15 Detected (this after day 27 of treatment and before day 28)
2/18/2014- 105 (this after day 14 of treatment and before day 15)
1/08/2014- 4.15 million (this was one month before starting treatment)
5/12/2012- 5 million (this was at the time of discovery)

Great news Steve! you started two days before me and I just know my results are about the same, unfortunately its alot harder for me to get blood test info or a fricken hassle and my next viral load test I think is May 6th. I got the usual blood test yesterday and will have those results possibly Monday.

I'm so glad to hear you're undetected, you just made me smile big time and I'll have a good weekend knowing you're already undetectable. I suspect I am also undetectable now as my levels last time were looking good and I went from 4.7 million to 79 after 30 days so now after another month I am more than sure I went from 79 to almost zero ;-)

Thanks again for the update Steve and have a great weekend! I also seen the "O" show from the 4th row back in October and we really liked it...was my first Cirque show. Makes sure to go check out the seafood buffet, its the only one in town I think and costs about $25-30 but more than worth it! I think its at the hotel with Penn & Teller and is just slightly off the strip by about 2-3 blocks with the bright neon tubes that run up the sides.
