hep c treatments for mary

hi my name is mary I am also type 2 and am fixing to start treatment for HCV with Salvaldi and ribro . Im a little worried and scared some but I know if I want to live then this is the thing need to do.i have read all the post and am glad to see and is helping me that your side affects have been not that bad and manigable that has been my biggest fear so hearing that you all have been doing so good im relieved I will post when I start and let everyone know how im doing I am 50 yrs old and I am over weight the 2 good things would be to be cured and loose weight doing it..

Yes I can I have full insurance and is paying for my meds had to appeal them to get it but doctor's did all that. I dont feel good some days im tired alot fatigued and no energy already and havent started meds yet.they are comeing here by ups today .I will start takeing next monday the 16th of june. I have done alot of research on the meds not jappy with the side affects of the ribroviren but will take for outcome if cured is worth it .

Forgot tovput stage im in the very beginning of stage 2 liver disease have been diagnosed since 1996 when I was pregnant I was told I had it in 1993 but then was told I didant have it I got sick and went in hospital then I had gastric bypass done in october 1992 and had blood transfusion then I got sick and same doctor told me I had it then came out told me I didant and sent me home. Then when I was ppregnant I got sick again and was put in hospital and then I found out by then had 1 child and one on the way thank god they are fine. Doctors think I got it threw blood transfusion but who knows but I wish everyone well and if you have hep c I do recomemnd to go for treatments dont wait like I did for now have stage 2 liver disease.

I'm going to start soon as well, geno2b..freaked out about sides of ribi also, these posts from others that have gone through it are so helpful and you can actually get an idea of what to expect, I've been researching the side effects of the ribivirin and always think i'm going to experience the extreme.. I'm finding out through reading everyone's logs here that anticipating treatment can give you more anxiety that the actual treatment.Myself, I am not good with pills or medication and that scares me a lot.. anyway, good luck and keep us posted :)))

I haven't began the process yet, saw my doc and said I needed time to think about it , i was going to wait until october because i had heard there were newer drugs coming out and wouldn't have to take the Ribivirin but they're only for geno 1..so I guess us 2b's are on the solvaldi and ribi tx for now, but as you said only 12 weeks and it's tolerable from what i'm reading here,there's no studies at present for newer tx geno 2 , maybe a few years down the road..good luck let me know how it's going, I'm in good health with zero liver damage right now, so my situation isn't urgent but you never know when it can turn on you.. I'll probably start in october after summer..

I hear people talking about the side effects of ribavirin. I've taken it twice. In 2004 for 48 weeks, along with interferon. No rage, no depression. I did have sores all over my torso, not open and not painful or itchy. It did make me and my girlfriend feel weird. Three month after finishing the treatment and was undetectable for a year, I had a cerebral hemorrhage and the virus was no longer undetectable. I then spent 4 years with ESLD. 2009 I received a liver.

A year after my transplant (2010), the virus started to climb. I did the interferon/ribavirin treatment again, this time for 15 months as my docs wanted me to be undetectable for 12 months. I'm now up to 31 months clear. This was my second experience with ribavirin/interferon and it went much better than the first time. I believe that having a new liver in good shape made a difference the second go round.

What I'm getting to is simple. The sicker you are, the tougher it will be to deal with the ribavirin. You don't sound as if you're that bad off. Also, you have insurance. Get the treatment, and try to lose some weight. You'll feel better.
