We can not tell you if you have Hep C virus, or not. You need to be tested if you are concerned. If your doctor will not test you for Hep C, find one that will!!

IV drug use is a leader in the pack for transmission. Many people had no IV drug use, and it is unclear where they became infected. Was it that transfusion from a surgery long ago, or the tattoo on Spring Break? Could it have been a nail salon prior to safe sanitization. How about using your boyfriends toothbrush or nail clippers, and not knowing he was Hep C positive? Was it rough sex? All of those could be the culprit, if you indeed, have Hep C.

I would be tested to buy yourself peace of mind.

thank you.. i didnt know all the ways it could be transmitted. i will ask my ob to test me this thursday and if they cant ill ask my rheumatologist. do you know what the main symptoms are and what the blood tests usually look like? my only liver enzyme elevated was AST. i eat healthy and dont drink alcohol. I dont see why it would have been elevated unless something had damaged my liver. The only other symptoms fatique muscle and joint pain/ mild swelling. Also that one enzyme they told me shouldnt have increased due to my pregnancy. the AST should have stayed in the range under 34. mine was 39. :/
